A Stephenville bakery since 1979

Danny's Bake Shop is a family-owned bakery at 71 Main St, Stephenville, NL, providing baked goods to the people of Western Newfoundland since 1979. Customers know it for Napoleons, almond tarts, cinnamon buns, fresh bread and cakes made to order. For plenty of people coming home to the west coast, it's the first stop.

The crew

Posts from the shop are signed "THE CREW". This fall they wished hunters luck ("your tea and lassy buns hit the spot in the woods"), celebrate the family's birthdays, and thank the staff out loud.

39 years at the counter

On October 1, 2026, the shop marked 39 years since Dorothy, Dee to most of Stephenville, joined the staff. They called her "the friendly face that graces our front", and the post filled up with more than 250 comments.

The window project

The crew is collecting the miniature Newfoundland ornaments to hang in the display window. If you spot one they're missing, they've said they'll gladly buy it from you, or send them a picture.
